Parent's Guide to Using TeamAttend
Getting Started on TeamAttend in 4 Steps
The mission of TeamAttend is to help youth soccer coaches become better leaders and focus more on how they can develop players positively.
We believe that a great player experience starts with a positive environment off the field. But when a coach is buried in endless threads about schedule changes or snack lists, that’s energy taken away from practice planning and mentorship. TeamAttend simplifies coach-to-parent coordination into one online platform so the team can unite on the field.
TeamAttend starts with the coach. Parents are then sent an invite by the coach to join on the TeamAttend platform.
Here is the step-by-step guide to get started using TeamAttend.
Step 1
Recieve an invite. You should have recieved an invite from the coach, where it includes an "Invite Code". Save that code, you will need it later.* Proceed to Step 2.
How does the coach send you an invite?
- Most youth teams already have a method of communication between parent and coach before using TeamAttend. For example, you may have provided an email address when registering your player for the team on another platform.
- If you need to contact your coach, do so by using the method of communication already established at your club's registration. Or, contact your club admin.
*An invite code is not required in order to make an account on TeamAttend. You can join a team another time once your account is verified.
Step 2
Create your account. Navigate to the My Team page.
- Select "Start Account" or "My Account" from the menu.
- Enter your desired email address and password.
- Ignore the box beside, "are you a coach?" As a parent, you are not a coach. Leave the checkbox empty.
- Then select, "create account".
Verify your email address. Follow the prompt to verify your email address.
Step 3
Join a team. Navigate to the My Team page. Now that you have verified your account and logged in, you will see a "Parent Dashboard". You will need the Invite Code the coach sent you in this step.
- The Parent Dashboard will not include team information until a team is joined.
- Navigate near the bottom of the Parent Dashboard area, to the section titled, "Join a Team".
- Enter the invite code you recieved from the coach. Such as, Coach Adam.
- Next, enter your player's first and last name. Such as, Austin Thomas.
- Finally, select the "Join Team" button.
Once you join a team for the first time, you may need to refresh the window if the team info does not display in the Parent Dashboard.
Step 4
Review team sessions. If the coach has created sessions (games and practices), you will see them listed within the Parent Dashboard.
- Select, "attending" or "not attending" within sessions based on your player's availability.
- You can change attendance as often as you need within sessions. But once you select an attendance option, it cannot be un-done to revert back to a "blank" state. However, you may always select either attendance option. For example if your attendance changes, simply select the other option and the system will update.
- In sessions labeled as "game", you may select to volunteer for snacks if you are attending. The snack feature will not display until "attending" is selected.
