Coach's Guide to Using TeamAttend
How to use TeamAttend. It all starts with the coach.
The mission of TeamAttend is to help youth soccer coaches become better leaders and focus more on how they can develop players positively.
We believe that a great player experience starts with a positive environment off the field. But when a coach is buried in endless threads about schedule changes or snack lists, that’s energy taken away from practice planning and mentorship. TeamAttend simplifies coach-to-parent coordination into one online platform so the team can unite on the field.
Here is the step-by-step guide to get started using TeamAttend.
Step 1
Create your account. Navigate to the My Team page.
- Select "Start Account" or "My Account" from the menu.
- Enter your desired email address and password.
- Check the box beside, "are you a coach?" Yes, you are a coach.
- Then select, "create account".
Verify your email address. Follow the prompt to verify your email address.
Step 2
Create a new team. Navigate to the My Team page. This is where all account actions are made. You should see a "Coach Dashboard", and a "Coach Action" section below it.
- Create a new team within the "Coach Actions" section.
- Enter your team name such as, River City FC U8 Co-Ed. This is the team name that will be listed to all invited parents. We suggest that it matches any commonly used title to be familiar to most users.
- Enter an invite code such as, Coach Adam. We suggest using the Coach+Name, since this is easily relatable for parents. This will be the code to share with parents to invite to the team.
- Finally, select the "Create Team" button.
Step 3
Invite team parents. Choose your preferred contact method to communicate with parents. This is often already established during team registration elsewhere. Many coaches already have access to an email list of team parents.
- Save the link to the My Team page (https://teamattend.com/myteam/) and your Invite Code (Coach Adam).
- Send the My Team page link + Invite Code to team parents.
- Here is an example message you could use to invite team parents...
Hello, our team will be using TeamAttend for scheduling this season. You can find the accurate times, locations, and details that I will enter for our sessions. Please go to https://teamattend.com/myteam/ and create your account. Then join our team with this invite code: [Insert Code]. Thank you.
Step 4
Add sessions. Navigate to the My Team page, where all account actions are made. You should see a "Coach Dashboard", and a "Coach Action" section below it.
- Navigate to the "Add Session to Team" section and complete the fields to schedule your practice or game.
- Enter your Team ID. This can be found within the "Coach Dashboard" once you select to view the team you have created.
Pro Tip: Once you select to view your team. The Team ID should automatically populate in the field for you. - Enter the session date when your practice or game will take place.
- Enter the session time. This is the start time only.
- Enter the session location. We suggest using the address and field information.
- Enter any details that may be necessary. This field is optional, it is not required. But you may choose to provide reminders such as, "Wear the white jersey."
- Select whether the session is a game by using the checkbox. When a game is selected it provides the snack option feature to parents and uses the game identifier in the schedule.
- Finally, select the "Add Session" button if this is a unique stand-alone session or game.
Pro Tip: If your session is a practice that happens multiplke times per week or throughout a month. Select the "Add + Copy to New Date" button to make adding multiple sessions easier.
